Things to do in the Scenic Rim

Disconnect to reconnect

Guests are encouraged to “disconnect” with a range of board games, dice, cards and puzzles available. However, for those who need to stay connected while at Fox Hill Grove, free wi-fi and a flat screen tv is also provided.

Summertime adventures

During dawn and dusk the property is speckled with wallabies and wild rabbits enjoying the sweet new growth of the grassy tips. Sunny days attract the big “old greys” who sunbathe on the gentle sloping hill.

In summer, guests can stroll alongside Oaky Creek which borders the property and take a dip in the swimming hole or check out the turtles sunbathing on the log at the nearby bridge.

In the canopy of gum trees, look up to spot a Koala or enjoy the birdsong of the native birds including Kookaburra, Babbler, Welcome Swallow, Willy Wagtail, Zebra Finches, Fairy Wren and much more.

Get cozy this winter

In the winter months, Scenic Rim comes alive with “Eat Local Month” in June, an array of farm-to-table style local lunches & dinners, pick your own vegetables and unique farm experiences.  Private transfers to these events can also be arranged.

Fox Hill Grove additionally offers a fire pit in the forefront of each cabin, with firewood and kindling provided onsite to help keep the fire roaring.

We recommend booking well in advance during this time.

Hiking, picnics, historical town and country vibes

Fox Hill Grove is the perfect base to explore the surrounding region, with various options for hiking, lakeside picnics, walk to the lookout, or visit the local winery or brewery.

The nearby historic town of Kalbar includes the heritage-listed Wiss Emporium, an antique shop filled with curios old and new. The charming town also features various country-themed shops, fashion and a variety of bakeries and cafés.
